LAST LESSONS

On this occasion, we have dedicated part of the first lesson to increase our vocabulary and topics.

Later on our teacher, Samantha, has given us some top tips for using different tools in the classroom:

• Blogs, they are a type of webside with regulars entries of commentary and used as personal journals or diaries.

• Wikis, they are a knowledge base webside on which users collaboratively modify contents.

• Podcasting, it is an audio file that can be downloaded.

• Visual organizers are simply drawing used to represent information, like mind maps, flowcharts, timeline, tree charts, ...

En esta ocasión, hemos dedicado parte de la primera clase a ampliar nuestro vocabulario y conocer algunas frases hechas.

Después nuestra profesora, Samantha, nos ha dado algunos consejos para el uso de diferentes herramientas en el aula:

• Blogs son un tipo de página web con publicaciones regulares y son utilizados tanto como artículos personales o diario.

• Wikis son sitios web para crear contenidos de forma colaborativa.

• Podcasting son archivos de audio que permiten ser descargados.

• Organizadores visuales, son dibujos simples que se usan para representar información, como mapas conceptuales, diagramas de flujo , lineas temporales, organigramas, ...

METHODOLOGIES AND ACTIVITIES

During these days we have practiced doing several phonetics tasks. These exercises are very entertaining for the students and they can have fun while improving their pronunciation.

Also we have learnt about creating a webquest and how structure the activities and organise students to make it. It's an attractive activity where the students have to research on the proposed topic.

Webquest is a didactic strategy in which students are the ones who really build knowledge.

Durante estos días, hemos hecho varias actividades de fonética.  Estos ejercicios son muy interesantes y los alumnos pueden divertirse mientras practican su pronunciación. 

También hemos aprendido a crear una webquest, estructurar las actividades y organizar a los alumnos para su realización.  Es una actividad atractiva donde los estudiantes tienen que investigar sobre el tema propuesto.

La Webquest es una estrategia didáctica en la que los alumnos son los que realmente construyen el conocimiento.

SECOND WEEK

After a tourist and rainy weekend, we have begun our second week at school.

Today we have met a new colleagues and we have dedicated some time to know each other. 

Afterward we have done some activities to practice lessons with ours students. We have used music and Cuisenaire Robs to make it funny.

 

After the coffee break, with our colleagues, 

we have made a group dynamic vey interesting, using mime, speaking and writing.

Después de un turístico y lluvioso fin de semana, hemos comenzado nuestra segunda semana en la escuela.

Hoy hemos conocido a nuevos compañeros y hemos dedicado algún tiempo en el aula a conocernos. 

A continuación hemos practicado algunas actividades para realizar después con nuestros alumnos en el aula, utilizando herramientas como las Regletas de Cuisenaire y canciones que han resultado muy divertidas.

Tras el descanso de media mañana con nuestras compañeras, hemos hecho una dinámica de grupo, usando la mímica, la expresión escrita y la expresión oral.

WE KEEP ON WALKING

During these last two day of the week, we have been working about use of english (types of phrasal verbs), vocabulary and especially speaking.  One of the most interesting conversations has dealt about special needs students inclusion at the school, because it concern all teachers around the world.

Thursday afternoon we went to famous Phoenix park and we could see a lot of beautiful deers.

It was a nice experience.

                                                      

Durante estos dos últimos días, nosotras hemos estado trabajando sobre el uso del inglés (types of phrasal verbs), vocabulario y especialmente el modo oral.  Una de las conversaciones más interesantes ha tratado sobre la inclusión en la escuela de los alumnos con  necesidades especiales ya que es un tema que preocupa a profesores de todo el mundo.

El jueves por la tarde fuimos al famoso Parque Phoenix y pudimos ver muchos ciervos preciosos.  

Fue una agradable experiencia.

TWO TEACHERS IN DUBLÍN

Our first lesson in Dublin. 😉

                        

In the morning, we have done an activity explaining the education system of different  countries like Spain, Italy, Germany and Irlanda. We have made a comparative analysis and we could see the similarities and differences between them.

After the break, we have been talking about Dublin history and its most important buildings like Trinity College or St. Patrick Cathedral.  In the afternoon we have visited  some monuments in the city.

 

     

Nuestra primera lección en Dublín, aprender a mirar al lado correcto al cruzar la calle

(derecha-izquierda).

Por la mañana hemos hecho una actividad explicando los sistemas educativos de diferentes países como España, Italia, Alemania e Irlanda y hemos realizado un análisis comparativo de las similitudes y diferencias entre ellos.

Después del descanso, hemos estado hablando sobre la historia de Dublín y algunos de sus edificios más importantes como el Trinity College o la catedral de St. Patrick.  Por la tarde hemos visitado algunos monumentos de la ciudad.

FIRST DAY IN DUBLIN

We began the day meeting our new colleagues who are going to be with us for the next two weeks.  All of us are teachers from different countries and this makes the course more interesting. 

This morning we have worked several group dynamics to know us better and we talked about some Dublin curiosities.

Nuestro primer día en Dublín,

hemos empezado el día conociendo a nuestras nuevas compañeras que van a estar con nosotras durante las próximas dos semanas.
Todos somos profesores de diferentes países, lo que hace que sea un curso aun más interesante.
Esta mañana hemos trabajado varias dinámicas de grupo para conocernos mejor y también hemos estado hablando de algunas curiosidades acerca de Dublín.

ENGLISH FOR TEACHERS. DUBLIN 2019

This course is for teachers that want to develop their skills (specially their oral fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation). Raquel Campos and M. José Mejías, the principal and one of the teachers of our school will attend this course from the 15th to the 26th of July of 2017. They will improve their use of English as a means of communication in class and in everyday situations. This course will help them to improve their English in order to be able to participate in further Erasmus+ courses and/or partnerships. The program offers a mix of English-focus classes, workshops, visits to places of interest, etc.
