VISITING ROME

Yesterday was a great day. Three groups of 1st grade were in Rome for an excursion and I had the opportunity to go with them. Each group was accompanied by 2 teachers, so moving about 60 students through Rome was not too difficult. We took the train in Monterotondo to get to the Roma Tiburtina station, where we changed the subway to the Colosseum stop.

Once there, teacher Leone explained the characteristics of the Coliseum with the participation of the students, who had previously prepared this visit in depth. We also spent some time to see the Arch of Constantine and headed towards the Agrippa Pantheon. Along the way, we made a stop at the impressive Trajan Column, north of the Roman Forum.

The visit to the Pantheon was great, after talking about its exterior architecture and commenting on some details of its construction, we were able to enter and see this incredible building from inside.

There was also time to take a break and eat an ice cream next to the Pantheon square. How wonderful Italian ice cream!

After this small stop to gather strength, and as a close of the view to Rome, we headed to the Pópolo Square along the Corso Street, one of the longest streets in Rome. In this huge square the students could spend a while running, playing or resting after the long walk.

VISITANDO ROMA

Ayer fue un día genial. Tres grupos de 1º estuvieron en Roma de excursión y tuve la oportunidad de ir con ellos. Cada grupo iba acompañado por 2 profesores, así que mover a unos 60 alumnos por Roma no resultó demasiado difícil. Cogimos el tren en Monterotondo para llegar hasta la estación de Roma Tiburtina, donde hicimos transbordo al metro hasta la parada del Coliseo.

Una vez allí, el profesor Leone explicó las características del Coliseo con la participación de los alumnos, que habían preparado previamente esta vista en profundidad. Dedicamos un tiempo también a ver el Arco de Constantino y pusimos rumbo hacia el Panteón Agripa. Por el camino, hicimos una parada en la impresionante Columna Trajana, al norte del Foro Romano.

La visita al Panteón fue estupenda, tras hablar sobre su arquitectura exterior y comentar algunos detalles de su construcción, pudimos entrar y ver este increíble edificio desde su interior.

También hubo tiempo para hacer una descanso y comernos un helado junto a la plaza del Panteón. ¡Qué maravilla los helados italianos!

Tras esta pequeña parada para coger fuerzas, y como cierre de la vista a Roma, nos dirigimos a la Plaza del Pópolo recorriendo la Vía del Corso, una de las calles más largas de Roma. En esta enorme plaza los alumnos pudieron dedicar un rato a correr, jugar o descansar tras el largo paseo.
